Getting Back Into It
Finding My Style...
Over the past couple of years, I have gotten to travel to beautiful places with some of the most creative people I've ever met. When you combine the grand scenery of Massachusetts or New York City with the greatest friends in the world, you'll end up wanting to take a lot of photographs.
I've never exactly known the reason why I can't leave the house without a camera in my hand; maybe it's the fear that I'll miss something I hope to never forget. However, I do know why I'm so in love with portraiture. A portrait, like any other photograph, is a memory frozen in time. It's a physical, or now digital, representation of a moment you never want to lose. What starts as an empty canvas can become a masterpiece once you fill it with the people you love or the places you long to come back to.
It's important to always remember our roots; to never lose touch of who we are. It's what grounds us. Sometimes, it may become hard to focus on the reason we take photographs when you're constantly obsessing over the wrong questions, such as "what's the best camera?" or "how do I find the right model?" - Though those questions are legitimate, sometimes it is best to just go out and shoot with the people you're already with. Why not go capture some memories?
